“I paint not what I see, but what I feel”

While growing up in Belize, Dorrien Thompson, (Known in the art world as Lailo) learned to appreciate the culture, customs and foods etc. of the local ethnic groups and the diversity of nature. He now resides on Vancouver Island with his wife and grown family. He lives on a hobby farm situated in Saanichton, raising chickens, goats and an organic garden.

Over the years he has travelled, lived and worked in different areas of the world, to list a few, North and Central America, Europe, and Australia. All of which have influenced his creativity as a self-taught artist.
