Join us for art classes and workshops. We maintain small class sizes to ensure a personalized and welcoming environment. Each student will have their own table to create on in a large, well lit 900 sq ft studio with lots natural light. We continue to follow all guidelines from public health officials and look forward to having you join us!

Looking for that perfect piece for you wall? Create your very own Vancouver Island layered wall decor! You will create this amazing piece of art with the helpful guidance of an art instructor. Using custom made stencils to help build the layers you will complete this two layer laser cut work of art! Not only will you head home with your custom 18″x18″ 2 layer Vancouver Island work of art you will also have the insert solid cutout of Vancouver Island as an extra piece of decor or project for another day!

Join Bryony for a foray into the lovely medium of pen and ink and create some beautiful results. Using flowers, birds, fruits and veggies, one can be as detailed or free flowing as you like. There are many rich and lustrous colours in inks but one bottle of your choice, a straight pen and nib, and you are ready to go!

This two-day intensive will help you with the fundamentals of portrait drawing. The first day will focus on the time-tested Loomis method for starting to capture the human head from any angle.

If you have always wanted to paint and think that watercolours are frightening, come and try them in a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Take out those watercolours and see what they can do in a bright and free way.

This two-day intensive will show you how to capture the photographic look of a glass or metal object with oil paint. On the first day we will dive straight into mixing paint and blocking in the general colours of our reference image.

Steve Chmilar is one of Canada’s foremost New Contemporary painters. Since his debut show at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria in 2011, he has painted full-time by selling his work internationally to private collectors.

Join us and dive further into acrylics with Kate Brooks-Heinimann a contemporary painter living and working on Lekwungen Territory. Kate’s paintings have been exhibited throughout British Columbia and Alberta and she has completed multiple artwork commissions within Canada and the United States.

In this six week Intro to Acrylic Painting course students will learn a variety of acrylic painting techniques, colour theory, and how to include the elements and principles of art in their paintings. In addition to several acrylic painting studies, students will also have the opportunity to develop and create a final painting project of their choice.

You will explore line, shape, colour and form to create cartoons in various styles. Using dry media on paper artists can depict narratives in comic strips, characters in anime or manga style, familiar and beloved cartoon-characters, and more.

Explore texture, form and composition using natural and organic matter. Items such as leaves, grasses and flowers will be used directly for prints, as well inspiration for artist-made compositions.

Transform your design into a custom feature laser cut piece of artwork. In this 2 part (2-day) workshop artists will learn basics to laser cut design by creating line art. Day 1 will focus on the process and design with day 2 (the following Sunday) on the laser cutting and finishing your custom piece of artwork.

Artists will create imaginary creatures or “monsters” using pieces of wood and other media. Taking inspiration entirely from the interesting shapes and materials available, participants will create unique and one-of-a-kind pieces all their own.

Artists will explore basic hand-pottery techniques using air-dry clays to create small vessels, such as pinch-pots and spiral-pots. Varying degrees of difficulty. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike.

Light up the spooky halloween night with your customized lantern. Using a laser cut frame and customizable silhouettes you will create a your very own lantern to carry with you, lit up by a tea light. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike.

Using acrylics on canvas, artists will explore elements of composition, design, shape, colour, and more. In the style of “dot-painting,” artists will create unique and striking geometric or abstract pieces. Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike.
