Get to know your DSLR or equivalent mirrorless camera. Explore your camera settings and leave auto settings behind. Learn the ins and outs of the exposure triangle, composition and the properties of light. Bring your camera and user manual. This course is geared to adults.

This course is geared to intermediate and advanced photographers, but beginner photographers are welcome to attend. Photography is “writing with light”. The camera is your light capturing machine. Become a connoisseur of light and you will discover opportunities for great shots that you may not have seen before.

This course builds on our Introduction to Photography. Students should be familiar with the exposure triangle and should be comfortable changing the settings on their camera. Different genres of photography such as landscape and portraits will be explored. We will discuss the creative use of filters, artificial light, panoramas, HDR, and focus stacking.
