Learn the basics of sketching with an emphasis on observation while drawing insects, animals, plants, and landscapes. Skills taught include breaking subjects into simple shapes, applying shading to create form, drawing texture, and sketching en plein air (outdoors, that is). Lessons involve demonstrations, experimentation, practice, and play. Optional but recommended homework will be assigned to support your learning and practice. Dress for any weather—drawing from nature is best done, well, in nature!
