- Instructor: Olivia Robinson
- Experience: Beginners
- Investment: $70 (all supplies included)
Have you ever marvelled at the beauty of old letters? Maybe you collect old ticket stubs. Or maybe you just appreciate working with funky materials and learning new art techniques. Well, this workshop is for you. We will be working with collections of ephemera (a.k.a. interesting paper scraps you might find in an old trunk) to make abstract landscapes on canvas. Along the way we’ll incorporate some mixed media techniques. Absolutely no art experience necessary!
Supplies are included but you are more than welcome to bring your own collections of ephemera. Ephemera is often defined as collectible memorabilia that was for a short term purpose. Ephemera is almost always paper-based and is often written or printed materials. Consider bringing the following pieces of ephemera (or any others you can think of!) to our workshop:
old letters, ticket stubs, tarot cards, maps, postcards, brochures, old book pages, old photographs, playing cards, cardstock, event ticket stubs, lottery tickets, dry cleaning receipts, Rolodex cards, post-it notes, magazine ads, paper packaging, old flyers, newspaper clippings, old ledgers.
