Description:
Come welcome winter by learning how to draw in-season and dried plants. This workshop will cover an intro to drawing techniques and how to create three dimensional forms. Being close to the holiday season, students will have the option of putting their drawings on creating greeting cards. This is sure to be a cozy and warming workshop, filled with learning and creativity!

Instructor:
Kate Brooks-Heinimann is a contemporary painter living and working on Lekwungen Territory. Kate’s paintings have been exhibited throughout British Columbia and Alberta and she has completed multiple artwork commissions within Canada and the United States. Kate is also a certified public school art teacher.

Kate was awarded scholarships to Parks Canada’s Art in the Park Artist Residency and the Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts Mentored Studio Residency. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and previously completed her Certificate of Visual Art at the Vancouver Island School of Art. Kate recently completed her Bachelor of Education in visual art at the University of Victoria, and is currently a public school art teacher. Learn more about Kate in the instructor tab.
