McTavish Academy of Art resides in a former elementary school building in North Saanich. The 18,000 sq. foot space has been transformed into a vibrant and inclusive creative arts facility. McTavish Academy is a community focused centre where you can explore your creativity, discover new passions and experience a variety of events and activities. Summer Camp Assistant Instructor
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to support kids summer camps. These interactive camps guide children through a variety of activities like arts and crafts, yoga, dance, creative writing/reading, nature adventure and more. We are currently looking for assistant instructors to help facilitate the camp activities in a collaborative, fun and engaging atmosphere.
Outline of Assistant Instructor position:
- Works collaboratively with Day Camp Leaders
- Delivery of safe, engaging and fun activities
- Assists with preparation & execution of planned activities
- Check in and out of kids & youth attending
- Post Secondary degree is not required
- Criminal record check required
- Knowledge assisting or leading recreational programs for school age children
- Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and parents
- Leadership abilities, including role model behaviours, along with the ability to demonstrate sound judgement while creating a positive, enthusiastic, safe and fun program environment.
Paid training & development time will be scheduled in June
Camps run 9am-3pm Monday to Friday except holidays
July and August. Compensation $21.50/hour

Gymnastics Instructor
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to run kids and youth gymnastics programs. We currently have a great program running that we are looking to expand and include additional classes and times.
Outline of Gymnastic Instructor position:
- Developing class activities / program plans
- Check in and out of kids & youth attending
- Skills and experience to provide a fun and safe environment
- Setup and cleanup of equipment
- Post Secondary degree is not required but must have gymnastics experience

There would be multiple classes per day and schedule can be discussed. Compensation $30/hour. Paid setup and cleanup time

Art Instructors
We are looking for instructors who have a passion for creativity, love instructing and would like to join us in sharing that with the community. We are open to all different arts and crafts ideas. Flexible days and times. Daytime, Evening and weekend spaces available for workshops and series.
