Join us at McTavish Academy Of Art for your Yoga & Mindfulness practice. We have created a number of classes with fantastic instructors. In following current health restrictions classes are pre-registered and class sizes are kept small for distancing. We have enhanced cleaning policies and limited number of classes to ensure a thorough cleaning can be done between classes.
At this time all classes have even further reduced to a maximum of 8 to provide extra spacing beyond public health recommendations. All classes have also been modified to ensure they are low intensity and follow all public health guidelines to resume programs. We will continue to monitor and respond to updates.

Somatic slow flow is a practice that nurtures mental well-being by allowing time to notice sensations, thoughts and feeling that come up while practicing. Students are cued to bring awareness to the mind and body in a non-judgmental way. Slow flow forms increase flexibility, strength and control. Modifications, and options are always offered. When we approach yoga from a place of mindfulness, we are able to connect with our own personal truth. This class will introduce the student to the basic philosophy of yoga and will include asana (yoga postures), basic pranayama (breathing), meditation or chanting and relaxation. New Studio.

Healthy Back Series

In this registered six week class series, we will explore unconscious postural patterns that can contribute to discomfort or pain in the back, subtle ways to activate the deeper postural and inner core muscles that support the back and then end with a few back release poses. Total Body Fitness
Tuesday and Thursday 9:15-10:15 Instructor: Kirsten Roden *Privately Registered
(Currently on hold due to public health restrictions) Please connect with Kirsten directly. Due to Covid Restrictions programs have been modified. Join Kirsten for 35-40 min of strength work & 20-25 min of yoga and stretch. This class will work the total body and get the heart rate up. We will finish the class by moving into some calm and quiet time with stretching and a short yoga practise.
