From Pong to Pacman and from Mario to Megaman, arcade games have introduced the world to countless iconic characters and styles of video games. In this educational program, students will learn coding basics through the context of building their own retro 2D video games. Whether it’s sprites, pixels and controllers or loops, logic and conditionals, students will be developing key concepts while building a video game they can play and share. To develop a video game, students should bring or rent a laptop or Chromebook. No experience is required. Laptop or Chromebook required

McTavish Academy Of Art is located on 4.2 acres in North Saanich. The 18,000 sq foot facility has multiple studios and gardens as well as indoor and outdoor play space for children to explore.
