Say goodbye to the drugstore card-rack! After this workshop, you’ll have your own line of beautiful, handmade greeting cards. Practicing printmaker Olivia will walk you through the steps of carving your own stamps, mixing inks, and printing on cards.
A bit about Lino block printing: Learn to think in reverse! Block printing is all about flipping space and images – it’s an incredible brain exercise. Lino block printing belongs to a class of printmaking called relief printing where material is carved away from a piece of block to reveal an image. Ink is then applied to the remaining raised sections of the block using a brayer. Finally, the block is flipped onto the paper. The result: a charming, hand carved image! The best part: the block can be used over and over again.
