Slow Down, Breathe & Let Go

Chair Yoga Classes

Chair Yoga is a great choice if you experience decreased mobility or have trouble moving through the up and down motions of traditional yoga. By using a chair as a prop, you can gently challenge your body while still feeling safe and supported – from balancing poses to arm extensions, to forward bends. As you progress, you’ll begin to notice a difference in your flexibility and strength, which leads to an increased range of motion and improvement in your mobility. Chair Yoga also helps to heighten self-awareness which improves proprioception – the sense of where your body is in space. This helps to heighten your coordination and balance.

Another great benefit is that a regular exercise routine is often associated with better sleep, and chair yoga is no exception. It can help to nurture a more positive outlook on life, which in turn reduces stress and headaches – and improves sleep!

Chair yoga is an effective and accessible exercise for everyone. This practice can instil a sense of ease and relaxation in your body and, over time, you may notice the tension you used to feel in your muscles and joints, begin to release and basic tasks of daily life become possible again.

What to bring: Chairs are provided but we recommend to bring your yoga mat.
