Barre Fitness Fusion combines elements of dance, pilates, and yoga to condition the body using exercises both at the barre and on the mat. Props are added to increase resistance, coordination and core strength. Each class offers a variety of exercises that are designed to develop strength, flexibility, balance, agility, and body awareness.
I am honoured to share my favourite form of expression – movement! As a Yoga and Dance instructor I value the art and science of both these mediums. My love for the moving meditation of yoga began about 12 years ago at the Yoga Shala in Calgary where I first began taking classes. I became hooked and soon completed my teacher training in the Ashtanga method, receiving my certificate in 2010. I began teaching here in Victoria in 2011, and continue to attend a variety of classes here which inspire my own teaching, including; Flow Yoga, Yin Yoga, and more recently Kundalini Yoga.
My dance background includes 34 years of training and teaching, and has allowed me to develop a variety of dance and yoga classes for both the public and private sectors. I enjoy teaching dance and yoga as separate entities, but also design and implement classes that fuse the two together, through a variety of themes, which guide class content.
I look forward to meeting you!
