Bring a photo of a treasured pet, or choose from a selection of animal photos that will be available, and create a colourful and unique portrait from start to finish. Materials (including canvas or wood panel, brushes, and all other painting supplies) will be provided as well as detailed instruction and guidance.

Laura Bonnie is a painter and illustrator currently residing in Victoria, BC. Frequent subjects include animals, the fantastical, story scenes, and all manners of dream imagery. She holds a BFA in Illustration from Emily Carr University of Art & Design, and enjoys the many strange peculiarities of the creative process. Frequent media include acrylics, oils, collage, mixed media and digital.
Inspiration for her current series involves enchanting imagery harvested from candid and everyday snapshots, and an ongoing fascination with insect life, transformation, and the subconscious.
Influences include Gustav Klimt and Egon Shiele, as well as Nick Bantock, Shaun Tan, and James Jean. Passions include keyboard cat, reptilians, and kitschy home decor. Laura Bonnie is currently accepting fine art and portrait commissions.
