Instructor Bio:

Rosalie Matchett is an award winning artist. Her work has been shown in Canada and the USA. She received her BFA in studio art from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1981. Encaustic medium, with its rich translucency, textural possibilities and its sheer physical presence enables Rosalie to experiment with the surface quality of her work, playing with the tension between the illusion of an image and the material presence of the painting. For the last four years Rosalie has been teaching Encaustic courses with Workshops on the Rock on Salt Spring Island.
