An opportunity to practice mindfulness for a whole day without the distractions of daily living.  Join us for this one-day retreat in which we will practice formal and informal mindfulness meditation techniques, including breathing, walking, yoga, Tai chi, tea ceremony and more.  A chance to deepen your practice and meet other meditators.  All abilities welcome.  Cost: $40 for the day.  Guide: Don Macdonald.   Bring your own refreshments, lunch and snacks – kitchen/fridge facilities available. Instructor Bio:

Don has been a practicing meditator for over 45 years and was also ordained as a Lay Buddhist minister in the Buddhist Churches of Canada, Jodo Shinshu tradition. He has taught mindfulness meditation at the University of Alberta in Edmonton and at MAOA over the past six years. He believes that you don’t have to become a Buddhist to practice and derive the benefits of mindfulness.  He teaches meditation from a secular non-religious perspective. Don holds a certificate in Integrated Mindfulness from Royal Roads University and is also trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). He also holds a B.Sc. in earth sciences and religious studies and an M.Sc. in geology.
