Have you wondered why with the best of intentions your oil/acrylic paintings look blah when finished? Classic artists used underpainting to set the tone of their compositions. The Group of 7 were bold and fearless employers of this painting technique. To start we will all do the same painting to practice and experience how an underpainting affects the colours used over it. Then we’ll do a less classical approach which may get you out of (possible) colour ruts and explore a colour path less traveled. Beginners+ are welcomed.
Note: We maintain small class sizes to ensure a personalized and welcoming environment. Each student will have their own table to create on in a large, well lit 900 sq ft studio with lots of natural light studio.
