Description
Soap Stone carving is great way for all ages to learn how to work with stone. This class will be for 7 years to 10 years. In this class it will be 2hrs of creative and fun, giving opportunity to kids to unleash their creative skills. Every student can choose what they want to make, Bear, Tortoise, Wolf or Orca. It will be a greater opportunity to practice and enjoy the process of working with stones and changing of colors after being polished. Only hand tools will be used during the class. No noise from tools.
This 2hr course with a 15 minutes break before completing the projects.
By the end of each project everyone will take their finished artwork home to share their experience/story with families and friends.

Instructor:
Patrick is a professional sculptor with over 30 years of experience working with different kinds of stones. He started sculpting at the age of 7. During he carrier Patrick has always been also teaching how to make art to different ages, beginners and advanced.

Patrick Sephani is a Zimbabwean/Canadian stone sculptor with more than 30 years experience working with different stone types since childhood in Africa. His work has been included in numerous international exhibitions in the United States, Canada, U.K and the Netherlands. He has collaborated with some of the most prominent Zimbabwean artists such as Agnes Nyanhongo and Dominic Benhura. His work is exceptionally expressive, Coaxing mood and emotion from a variety of stones.
As well as his own artistic production, he has extensive experience teaching at various levels in the U.K, the Netherlands, the United States and Canada. Since 2005, he led workshops for both children and adults in stone sculpting. Between 2008-Current, he participated in many international exhibitions while also offering instruction in sculpting and art installation.
Since Patrick moved to Canada with his family, he continues to produce sculptures inspired by the surrounding environment, and has been resident artist in Canada, the United States and the U.K. A serious and accomplished artist, Patrick is also an excellent communicator and teacher.
