Say goodbye to the drugstore card-rack this season! After this workshop, you’ll have your own line of beautiful, handmade holiday cards. Practicing printmaker Olivia will walk you through the steps of carving your own stamps, mixing inks, and printing on cards. For those who enjoy stamping more than carving, you may also choose from a variety of pre-cut stamps and blocks to print on your cards.
A bit about lino block printing:
Learn to think in reverse! Block printing is all about flipping space and images – it’s an incredible brain exercise. Linocut is a relief printmaking method where material is carved away from a piece of linoleum to reveal an image. Ink is then applied to the remaining raised sections of the block using a brayer. Finally, the block is flipped onto the paper. The result: a charming, hand carved image! The best part: the block can be used over and over again.
