Design a portrait of your favourite critter while learning the basics of painting in acrylics. Skills taught include colour mixing, how to transfer a composition to canvas, applying brushstrokes, and layering techniques. Students may create their portrait in any style from pop-art to realism. Olivia will provide demos, one-on-one tips, handouts, and homework to support your learning. (You can expect to spend 30 mins to 1 hr per week on homework.) After six sessions, you’ll have practiced and developed skills that will give you the confidence to dive further into this versatile and exciting medium.

You will not need expensive, artist-level acrylics like Golden for our class.
